Here's some additional tips to improve your push-ups...

  • Keep your feet together.
  • Engage your core.
  • Squeeze your glutes.
  • Feel like you're pushing the ground away, not pushing yourself up.

*NOTE* There are many ways to do push-ups. Different hand positions isolate different muscle groups. This tip is designed to improve speed and stamina for athletes struggling to perform consistent and sustained push-ups.

The Ultimate Push-up Workout

Next time you are practicing push-ups, take 3 seconds to lower your body to the floor, and then drop your knees to the floor and quickly cheat your way back up to the top of a push-up position. Don't pause between reps. Studies show that slowly lowering your body weight stimulates growth and boosts strength throughout your chest. Good luck!
